In recent years the use of 3D imaging has become a vital part in everyday diagnosis, treatment planning and post op evaluation of dental patients. This talk is a comprehensive review of CBCTs different applications and expert recommendations for use of 3D CBCT in different aspects of today’s dental practice. The wide variety of uses include ruling out pathology, applications for implant planning, endo treatment/retreatment, oral surgery, orthodontics, etc.).

Dr. Lavasani is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology specialist. She is a full-time Associate Professor and the Director of Oral Radiology & Advanced Imaging at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine in Pomona, California. She is a fellow of the Global Dental Implant Academy (FGDIA). She is an internationally recognized oral radiology CE course and workshop provider and is a frequent presenter at the California Dental Association (CDA), UCLA AEGD residency program. She has published multiple journal articles and book chapters including the first interactive Oral Radiology textbook “Fundamentals of Oral Radiology” and is a distinguished reviewer for the specialty OOOO journal. She is a member of the Organizing Committee of the ICDMFR/AAOMR and an active member of multiple standing committees at the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, Tri-County dental society and the co-chair of Sponsorship and Commercial exhibition committee at the ICDMFR/AAOMR joint meeting. She is an honoree of the Incisal Edge magazine’s prestigious 40 under 40 best specialists in America (2019) and the awardee of the “Distinguished Faculty Member Award” at WesternU College of Dental medicine
